Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke suffered a mild right ankle sprain in the fourth inning of Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Van Slyke belted a solo homer in the third inning, but came up injured when he tried to field an RBI single by Jordan Pacheco. The hit to center field, which plated Alfredo Marte, short-hopped off the chest of center fielder Yasiel Puig. Van Slyke raced over from left to get the ball, but went down when he planted his foot and was charged with an error.

Van Slyke walked off the field and was replaced in left by Carl Crawford. The Dodgers said Van Slyke's playing status was day-to-day.
