St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jimmy Garoppolo's NFL Draft resume got quite stronger on Saturday.

The Walter Payton Award-winning quarterback out of Eastern Illinois was named the offensive most valuable player of the East-West Shrine Game, helping the East to a 23-13 victory over the West at Tropicana Field.

Garoppolo completed 9-of-14 pass attempts for 100 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Matt Hazel from Coastal Carolina with eight seconds left in the first half, giving the East a 13-6 lead.

In winning the 2013 Payton Award as the outstanding player in the FCS, Garoppolo threw for Eastern Illinois and Ohio Valley Conference records with 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns.

The East-West Shrine Game's leading rusher was Northern Arizona's Zach Bauman with 47 yards on eight carries for the East squad.
