RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - After separate complaints were filed in Las Vegas and Reno against the same woman for allegedly injecting people with botox illegally,  viewers came to us concerned that Sandra Rennert, who also goes by the name Sandra Bledsoe,  is still shooting people up with botox.  Even though she's not licensed in Nevada to practice medicine, and even though some of her patients say they've been harmed by her injections.

The Fact Finder team launched our own undercover investigation.
We texted Sandra, and she invited us to her home in south Reno where  she offered to peform botox treatments on our producer.

"Let's schedule," her text reads.  "Anyone else you'll pay double for".

Next our producer went to Sandra's house to find out more. Once inside, we recorded the conversation in order to document what is happening.  Sandra had the shot ready to go.

"Does it hurt ?" our producer asked.   "Let me show you the needle," Sandra replied.
It's a little 31 gauge needle"

Sandra proceeded to tell our producer she performs botox treatments all the time, right there, in her house.

"I do everybody in town," She went on to say on the recording. "I mean that's partly why the plastic surgeons hate me.  I do it for half the price."

The Nevada State Medical Board says it is illegal to practice medicine without a license.

But a case like this is out of their jurisdiction because they only regulate licensed medical professionals.   So, its up to police.

"First and foremost it's a criminal problem.  So we want to support investigations by law enforcement," said Doug Cooper, chairman of the Nevada Medical Board.

And Sandra told our producer flat out that she knows she's breaking the law.  And while she's been arrested once in Las Vegas, she's still at it.

"I'm doing it at my house," Sandra said on the recording. "That's not legal.  I don't have a business license. do you know what i'm saying ?"

We had hoped to ask Sandra if she's concerned she could be putting people in danger.  News 4 went to her house three times after our undercover visit but Sandra was either not home or did not answer the door.   We also called her and texted her twice, asking if she's licensed to inject people with botox. She did not answer.

But the message is clear.  The chairman of the Nevada Medical Board, Doug Cooper,  says if you're getting botox, or any other procedure, make sure it's by a licensed professional and performed in a medical office.

"In a proper setting you have life support, you have licensed people on hand in case something goes wrong.  It's safer," Cooper said.

We heard from Sandra Bledsoe's attorney shortly before air time.  The attorney, Paola Armeni of Las Vegas, questioned the facts in our story but offered no specifics.
As for where it goes from here, Reno Police have agreed to take a look at this case to decide whether to launch a criminal investigation.  And in Las Vegas, the Clark County District Attorney plans to review the arrest from nearly two years ago.  The D.A. will decide then whether to move forward and file charges.
Also, the Nevada Health Division and the Nevada Nursing Board are investigating as well after we brought this to their attention.   We will keep you posted on what develops.

We fully agree, injecting Botox without a license can be deadly! http://www.botoxlosangeles.net

I am going to say this yet again! Always research your injector and the facility the procedure is to be performed at. That are unscrupulous people buying fake Botox all the time. Also, one must be trained and qualified to inject Botox. Just because a procedure is common does not mean there is no risk to it. Please folks, do your research! Sorry that the onus is on patients to do this, but that's how it works out. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Dr Rhys Branman Little Rock Cosmetic Surgery Center
