UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County fire officials say a fire broke out at a building housing a closed theme park ride at Universal Studios.
Inspector Quvondo Johnson says reports of heavy smoke came in at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday from the theme park.
Johnson says the ride is under construction and the blaze may have resulted from a welding torch.
Firefighters have searched the three-story building and no one was found.
