Reno, NV-- (KRNV and
www.mynews4.com)-- The Reno woman who lost her job as an airport baggage handler after she refused to load an abused dog onto an airplane has been offered full reinstatement and back pay. Airport Terminal Services, which operates independently from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, offered Lynn Jones her old job after a national uproar following her firing last month.
ATS President Sally Leible says Jones would be welcomed back to work under the supervision of the same management team that fired her.
Jones says she is considering the offer.
Meantime, many viewers are wondering what happened to the dog and its alleged abuser, who were reportedly flying to Corpus Christi, TX, when the incident occurred November 12. Washoe County prosecutors are interpreting "Cooney's Law"-- designed to protect the identity of people who report animal abuse-- to mean that they cannot release information publicly about abuse reports or the resulting investigations.
But some state lawmakers say as long as investigators do not release specific information about the report, and release only the information that results from the investigations, they will not be prosecuted.
