Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames placed forward Curtis Glencross on injured reserve Saturday due to a lower-body injury.

Glencross sustained the injury in the first period of Saturday's 4-3 setback in Pittsburgh and did not return.

The 30-year-old has registered six goals and six assists over 21 games this season.

Calgary recalled defenseman Derek Smith from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League to replace Glencross on the roster.

Smith has posted one assist in 11 games with Calgary this season.
