ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have not found the source of a reported gas smell that prompted the evacuation of Alhambra High School.

Police and fire officials along with a hazmat crew are sweeping the campus as a precaution Tuesday morning.

In a post on its Facebook page, Alhambra police said nothing has been found that would indicate a critical or hazardous situation exists.

Students gathered on a campus ball field after someone reported smelling gas in a classroom before school started.

Police limited traffic on the streets surrounding the suburban school east of Los Angeles.
