Nevada junior running back Stefphon Jefferson picked up another honor on Thursday as he was named a second-team Walter Camp All-American.
Jefferson, who is second in the nation in rushing at 141.92 yards per game, is second all-time in Mountain West single-season history with his 1,703 yards on the ground this year. He and the Wolf Pack still have one more game – the Gildan New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 15 against Arizona. He is third on Nevada’s single-season charts, trailing just Frank Hawkins (1,719 in 1980) and Chance Kretschmer (1,732 in 2001).
Jefferson was one of just three non-BCS players named to the Walter Camp first or second teams and he was one of just two Mountain West players selected. This is the second All-America accolade for Jefferson, who was selected as a third-teamer by CBSSports.com
