•Working with the Condition Report Analysts and Technical Communicators, conduct Failure Analysis evaluations and write summary reports on critical high profile components.
•Work with Technical Training instructors to identify needs for Failure Analysis training classes for appropriate CRC employees. Participate and assist in FA training classes as appropriate.
•Maintain and manage CRC failure analysis records and regularly report trends.
Position Purpose:
Support the strategic direction of the organization and the division. Demonstrate leadership, integrity, teamwork, quality and urgency in the performance of one’s functions and responsibilities to ensure the goals of customer satisfaction, market dominance and profitability are achieved.

Essential Functions:
Failure Analysis Evaluations:
•Working with the Condition Report Analysts and Technical Communicators, conduct Failure Analysis evaluations and write summary reports on critical high profile components.
•Work with Technical Training instructors to identify needs for Failure Analysis training classes for appropriate CRC employees. Participate and assist in FA training classes as appropriate.
•Maintain and manage CRC failure analysis records and regularly report trends.
•Use data resources such as VIMS downloads and oil, coolant and fuel sample reports to help determine root cause and product quality and reliability trends. Utilize machine onboard data acquisition systems to better monitor component health.
•Assure the accuracy and reporting of AFA, (Applied Failure Analysis) findings.
•Work with Caterpillar service representatives and product groups in the containment and final resolution of product problems. Develop interim corrective action plans to address product problems, as appropriate.
•Report product problem issues through the Caterpillar (Dealer Solution Network).
•Communicate product problem issues to the appropriate internal groups.
KPI Rebuild Quality, Rebuild Durability, Rebuild Efficiency:
•Measure component rebuild quality and durability (early hour rebuild reliability, longer life rebuild achievement) and component life trends. Compare results and trends against targets and expectations, world class Cat achievements and other Cat dealer CRC rebuild results.
•Monitor and measure component quality and reliability throughout the production process.
•Develop and implement action plans to close gaps between actual life experienced and Planned Component Repair (PCR) life expectations.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):
•Evaluate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each component rebuild work station and provide appropriate feedback. Assist in the development of specific SOPs as requested by CRC management.
•Ensure a proper understanding of Caterpillar Reuse and Salvage Guidelines. Assist in teaching CRC employees in the proper use of these guidelines.
Continuous Improvement:
•Evaluate appropriate CI best practices developed at other world class Cat dealer CRCs and communicate these practices to Cashman management. Assist in the implementation of agreed to best practices and assist to insure that they are embedded into the operations, sustained and periodically reviewed and updated as appropriate.
•Support the Contamination Control initiatives.

•Submit necessary reports, records and data in a quality and timely manner.
•Ensure a safe environment for the individual, division and company. Report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
•Stay up to date on products, systems, policies and procedures. Be aware of changes made to policies and procedures; support and communicate to others as appropriate. Provide input and feedback to improve and update policies and procedures, as needed.
•Participate in fostering a challenging environment that encourages teamwork and self-development.
•Assist in making decisions related to procedures and process control.
•Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Position Specifications:
Education & Work Experience

•Bachelor degree / 2 year associate degree in a technical field.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Courses in basic engineering, mathematics, physical sciences and technical writing/presentations.
•Minimum of five years experience in the heavy equipment industry.
Technical Knowledge:
•Mechanically inclined and the ability to read and understand technical material commonly used in support of our products.
•Proficient computer technology skills and experienced in the use of programs, Word, Power Point, EXCEL, Outlook.
Work Environment:
•Office/inside environment.
•Frequent exposure to shop/warehouse/outside environment.
•Field environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, dirt and noise.
•Valid Nevada Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
•Occasional travel and overnight stays.
Physical / Mental Abilities:
•Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with position and responsibilities.
•Self-motivated and detail oriented; work with minimum supervision.
•Stand/walk 1-4 hours a day, and/or sit 5-6 hours a day.
•Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.
•Must use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
•Must be able to occasionally bend, squat and climb, including the ability to ascend and descend ladders.
