Aviemore, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Andrew Johnston carded a final round 66 on Sunday and he cruised to a 3-shot victory at the Scottish Hydro Challenge.
Johnston carded just one bogey on the next-to-last hole on his way to another strong day. He finished the tournament at 19-under-par 265.
The England native held a 2-shot lead heading into the final day, and he kept things rolling right off the bat with an eagle on the par-4 second hole. After making five straight pars, Johnston birdied back-to-back holes at eight and nine, making the turn at 4-under for the day.
Johnston added two more birdies at 13 and 14 before making bogey at No. 17. At that point, the title was already his barring a huge collapse.
The 25-year-old held the lead since the conclusion of the second round, and he never let go. Johnston's best round of the week came on the second day when he fired a 6-under 65 at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club.
Terry Pilkadaris and Moritz Lampert both shot 67s on the final day and they finished three shots behind Johnston in second place at 16-under 268. Jack Senior (65) and Oliver Farr (66) ended tied for fourth at 15-under.
