New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was named Monday as the National League Pitcher of the Month for July.
No surprise there.
Kershaw, who also earned the title after throwing his first career no-hitter in June, had a 1.07 ERA in five July starts with 43 strikeouts in 42 innings to post a 4-0 record against Colorado, San Diego, San Francisco and Atlanta.
The Dodgers won the other game, too, despite Kershaw giving up (gasp) three runs in seven innings against St. Louis.
Kershaw won the award for the fourth time in his career.
