SAN DIEGO (AP) — Two Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies have pleaded not guilty to assault in connection with an off-duty brawl in San Diego.
The Los Angeles Times says Miguel Aguilar and Derek Vonkleist entered pleas Monday to felony charges of aggravated battery and assault likely to produce great bodily injury.
They were arrested on Dec. 7 and are free on bail. Both have been suspended without pay.
Aguilar has been with the Sheriff's Department for five years and Vonkleist is a four-year veteran.
Each could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
