CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) — A New York trooper killed during a 2011 traffic stop is being honored for continuing to help people after his death through cornea and tissue donations.

On Wednesday, executives from the cardiovascular tissue-processing bank CryoLife will be in western New York to present the state police with a plaque honoring Kevin Dobson, whose donations have helped enhance the lives of 70 people.

Then on New Year's Day, the Rose Bowl Parade in California will feature a large portrait of Dobson made of dried flowers, seeds and other organic materials.

CryoLife chose Dobson's story from dozens across the country.
