LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas is securing its place on the list of the top places to ring in the new year with celebrity-studded bashes, exclusive concerts and a fireworks display billed as the country's largest.

Big-ticket musical acts including Bruno Mars, John Legend and Maroon 5 are expected to help lure 335,000 visitors to Las Vegas by nightfall.

Tourists could already be seen toting novelty drinks into casinos around noon Tuesday.

At midnight, an eight-minute fireworks display will shoot from the rooftops of seven hotel-casinos.

Hotels are dealing a full house this weekend, with occupancy approaching 100 percent. New Year's Eve is typically casinos' most profitable night of the year, and executives have been working to turn it into a long weekend.

Law enforcement officers will be keeping a close eye on the festivities.
