Man charged with murder of woman who was buried in backyard

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- Shortly after midnight, a Washoe County Jury returned a verdict of First Degree Murder to Thomas Brant after Kimberly Seaton was found buried in a shallow grave in his backyard, according to Washoe County District Attorney's Office.

Brant, age 57, was charged with the murder of Kimberley Seaton. Seaton was reported missing Dec. 7, 2012 and found in a shallow grave in the garage of Brant’s Sparks home on Dec. 10, 2012. Judge Brent Adams of the Second Judicial District Court presided over the trial, which commenced on May 13, 2013.

Brant is scheduled to be sentenced on July 10, 2012 at 9 a.m.
