LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man convicted in the murder and attempted murder of transients in the Hollywood area five years ago has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says 58-year-old Domingo Linares Rodas received two consecutive life sentences on Monday. Rodas was convicted last month of one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Prosecutors say Rodas fatally stabbed Keith Fallin in August 2009 while he was asleep outside the Music Box Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

A few hours later, Rodas attacked a second man with a knife. Prosecutors say the victim was stabbed in the chest but survived the assault. Rodas also stabbed and wounded a third man on the same day.
