CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a 55-year-old inmate who was serving time for second-degree murder has died in a Carson City prison.
Nevada Department of Corrections officials say Michael Johnson died on Wednesday. He had been hospitalized for an undisclosed condition at the Regional Medical Facility at Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Johnson was convicted of murder in Churchill County and has been in the prison system since August 2008.
Corrections officials say an autopsy will be conducted.
