SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Authorities say a man struck by a suspect fleeing police in a stolen minivan last month has died at a San Francisco hospital.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports 29-year-old Zach Watson died Saturday surrounded by family and friends.

Watson, who was walking his bike, was one of five people hurt when the minivan ran a red light and crashed into a taxi cab July 28.

The impact sent the vehicles onto the sidewalk, where Watson and pedestrian were struck.

Police spokesman Albie Esparza says the suspect had fled moments earlier after police tried to pull the van over. Police did not pursue the van.

After the crash, police say the suspect boarded a bus before being taken into custody.

Prosecutors charged 25-year-old Anthony Wisner with several counts including felony hit-and-run. He remains in custody.
