SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Police say a 63-year-old man suddenly threw himself down on Santa Barbara railroad tracks and was struck and killed by an Amtrak train.
Police Lt. Paul McCaffrey says the death of the 63-year-old man is being investigated as a suicide.
No one on the train was hurt.
The Santa Barbara News-Press says the Santa Barbara man laid down in front of the approaching train on Sunday afternoon near Anacapa and State streets.
The name of the Santa Barbara resident hasn't been released.
