CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) — A man who led Carlsbad police on a 10-mile chase has been arrested after stopping his pickup truck on railroad tracks in Encinitas.
Police tell U-T San Diego they believe the man was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when the chase started just before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers say speeds during the chase exceeded 100 mph.
Investigators say it ended when the man drove over spike strips and stopped on railroad tracks.
He was arrested and his truck searched. Police say they confiscated a loaded shotgun and some ammunition.
The man's name wasn't immediately available.
