Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Mariners have avoided arbitration with first baseman Logan Morrison by agreeing to terms with the offseason pickup on a contract for the upcoming 2014 season.

Financial terms were not disclosed, though CBSSports.com reported the deal to have a base salary of $1.75 million and contains an additional $350,000 in incentives.

Morrison, acquired by Seattle from Miami in December in exchange for reliever Carter Capps, batted .242 with six home runs and 36 RBI in 85 games for the Marlins last season.

The 26-year-old swatted 23 homers and knocked in 72 runs during his first full major league campaign in 2011, but has had just 17 home runs and 72 RBI while battling injuries the past two years.
