CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the license of a Las Vegas doctor accused of using the identity of a dead man to obtain controlled drugs through prescriptions he wrote himself.

The board set a March 5 hearing for Dr. Kent A. Swaine, who has been the subject of previous actions by the board for testing positive for controlled substances.

A complaint filed by the board Friday alleges that Swaine for two years used the identity of a dead person and wrote prescriptions for controlled substances or dangerous drugs.

The Las Vegas Sun reports he would take the prescriptions to a Las Vegas pharmacy to be filled, presenting a photo ID of himself as the deceased person.
