SPARKS, Nev. (AP) -- Police say the 12-year-old student who opened fire on a Sparks middle school campus, got the weapon from his home.

The boy wounded two classmates and killed a teacher before he turned the gun on himself.

Washoe County School District police say they are still working to determine how the boy obtained the 9mm semi-automatic Ruger handgun used in the Monday morning spree at Sparks Middle School. The boy's parents are cooperating with authorities and police say they could face charges in the case.

Authorities say they're withholding the seventh-grader's name out of respect for his family.

At a news conference Tuesday, law enforcement and school officials again lauded the actions of 45-year-old math teacher and former Marine Michael Landsberry, who tried to stop the rampage before he was killed.

F.Y.I: I personally know this family and the kid interviewed did NOT even know the shooter. No need to bash someone who gave an interview of his personal events. If you payed attention you would hear that the mom did mention that there was about 20-30 additional kids to the least of what is known who also encountered the shooter. So you think that ALL kids approached by him or injured by the shooter knew or bullied him? NO! Think so not. Easy for anyone who was not there to give their unfair opinion of sequence of events or what REALLY lead to this and WHO were the real bullies. They did thank and wanted everyone to know what great job was done by the school teachers, staff, kids/students, and any other people for the great effort that everyone did to try and keep as many safe.

Am I the only one who thinks that if the shooter personally wanted to shoot this child that he was responsible for bullying the poor kid??? No offense intended to the family of the shooter but I do not think this kid should get any media coverage.
