LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles authorities are looking for a driver who left a police motorcycle officer with a broken leg in a hit-and-run collision.

City News Service says the officer, who works for the LAPD's West Traffic Division, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being struck near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard Wednesday night.

Witnesses say they saw the suspect's vehicle, a silver Mercedes Benz convertible, cross double center lines immediately before the collision.
