RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- About 50 Nevada Guard soldiers have returned home today from a 10 month deployment in Afghanistan.
The unit and their CH-47 Chinook helicopters were deployed as aviation support for air assault missions throughout Afghanistan. In August of 2012, one of the unit's Chinooks was destroyed during a hard landing, but luckily no guardsmen were seriously injured.
