Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson has been diagnosed with a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury he sustained during Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
A team statement released Thursday indicated that Robinson will undergo further evaluation on Friday to determine a course of treatment and timetable for recovery. He has been formally ruled out of the Nuggets' game against Toronto on Friday.
Robinson, who is averaging 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games this season, exited Wednesday's 101-98 loss to the Bobcats midway through the first quarter. He was starting at point guard in place of Ty Lawson, who sat out the contest with a strained left rotator cuff.
Lawson remains day-to-day with his injury and is questionable to return for Friday's tilt.
