SPANISH SPRINGS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -Washoe County School District Police Chief Mike Mieras says a 15 year old male student at Spanish Springs High School was suspended last week when they discovered he had written inappropriate song lyrics. Chief Mieras would not go into detail, only stating that the student's lyrics indicated he wanted to harm people at the school.
Mieras says they conducted an investigation and determined no direct threat had been made. He says through an investigation they determined that this student was not a current threat to the school. The studentis not on campus today and remains suspended.
Parents worried about the possible threat have decided to keep their kids out of school today.
Last night, News 4 started getting messages from parents, saying they had heard a student at Spanish Springs High School was threatening to harm others at the school.
This morning, one parent wrote in that she was keeping her student home today because even if it is a rumor, given the recent school shooting she wanted to be cautious.
