GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says a pedestrian is dead after being struck by multiple vehicles overnight on U.S. 395 south of Gardnerville.
Troopers tell KOLO-TV in Reno the pedestrian was first struck while crossing southbound lanes of the highway about 11 p.m. Sunday near Pine Valley Road.
Investigators say the injured person was thrown into northbound lanes, and was hit by at least one other vehicle.
The dead person's name wasn't immediately made public.
The NHP says the vehicle drivers cooperated with investigators, and the highway was closed for several hours while troopers investigated.
