Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies recalled pitcher David Buchanan from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros.

The Phillies needed a replacement for Cliff Lee in their starting rotation. Lee was placed on the 15-day disabled list after exiting Thursday's game against the Washington Nationals in the third inning.

Buchanan is 5-5 with a 4.40 earned run average in 10 starts with the Phillies this season.
