NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Police in North Las Vegas think a family member may be responsible for a double-slaying at a home where officers sent to check on a missing 53-year-old mother and her 33-year-old daughter found a bloody crime scene.
Authorities didn't immediately identify the dead, but North Las Vegas police Sgt. Chrissie Coon said Tuesday the slayings appeared to have resulted from a domestic incident.
Coon says police don't think a suspect is on the loose.
A man who lived at the home wasn't there when police arrived about 2:30 a.m. Monday and entered through an unlocked back door.
Police spent more than 14 hours collecting evidence at the home near Lamb Boulevard and Tropical Parkway, and Coon says Clark County coroner's investigators were called more than once to retrieve human remains.
