WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) — Authorities in Northern California are searching for a masked gunman who shot two people in a car after they attended an R&B concert.

Walnut Creek police say the victims were driving from an all-day concert Sunday night in neighboring Concord when a vehicle driven by a gunman wearing a black three-holed mask pulled up and fired several shots into the passenger's front seat window.

Police say witnesses saw the gunman exit his light-colored Honda and fire several more shots with his semi-automatic handgun into the victims' white Mercedes, striking the female driver and her male passenger.

Police say the man shot is hospitalized in critical condition and the woman was treated and released. Their names have not been released.

It's not clear whether the suspect and the victims may have had a confrontation at the concert before the shooting.
