RENO, Nev. (Mynews4.com)- Reno and Sparks Police Departments located a storage unit full of stolen property on Monday. Sgt. Patrick Dreelan tells News 4, the storage unit was under the name of Jason Stidham, 34, who they arrested for an attempted burglary on Sunday.
"We have him for four cases in Reno, another in Sparks," said Dreelan. The four cases in Reno include the attempted burglary at Money Tree cash advance center on Clear Acre Lane, and burglaries at Sprad's RV, AT&T and Paycheck Advance.
Police located items from each location. The AT&T store and Paycheck Advance on Lemon Drive were broken into one week ago. A burglar entered the building through the roof and disabled surveillance cameras and alarm systems. The thief or thieves stole thousands worth of cell phones, cash and gold.
Over at A1 Body Shop, the burglar or burglars also entered through the roof. Store employees say they not only lost parts but they lost tools purchased over many years. In total they believe the thieves got away with more than $80,000 worth of property.
Police say Stidham shared the storage unit and his home with Joshua Lewis. Lewis was also arrested but is not being held in connection to the burglaries at this point. He is currently only facing the charge of possession of stolen property.
Most stores say they recovered the majority of their items. However, some say they are still waiting.
Police have increased Stidham's bail to more than $100,000 in order to make sure he does not flee. Police tell News4 they believe they have a good case and they are seeking conviction.
