St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox activated shortstop Xander Bogaerts from the seven-day concussion disabled list on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Bogaerts was removed from an Aug. 22 game after being hit in the head by a pitch from Seattle ace Felix Hernandez. He was placed on the DL three days later, retroactive to Aug. 23.
Prior to the mishap, Bogaerts was hitting .223 with eight homers, 30 RBI and 47 runs scored over 118 games this season.
To make room on the roster, the Sox shipped Friday's winning pitcher Anthony Ranaudo to Single-A Greenville.
