Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox optioned outfielder Daniel Nava to Triple-A Pawtucket and recalled pitcher Rubby De La Rosa to start in Saturday's matchup with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Nava appeared in just five games during his second stint with the Red Sox after being recalled on May 24. He has hit for an average of .130 with three RBI and two home runs across 22 games this season.
De La Rosa has started 10 games for the PawSox this season, earning a 2-3 record with a 3.04 earned run average. The 25-year-old right-hander has a 4-7 record in the majors with a 4.21 ERA in 25 appearances (10 starts) over three seasons with the Dodgers and Red Sox.
