RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police are investigating a fatal stabbing northwest of downtown.

Police say the victim was a man in his 50s. He called police about 4:30 a.m. Thursday and reported he'd been stabbed in the chest.

Officers found him bleeding near the Raley's grocery store on Keystone and 7th Street. He was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center where he later died during surgery.

Police spokesman Scott Dugan says they believe there may have been a disturbance in the area before the stabbing. Officers are canvassing the neighborhood but so far have not identified any suspects.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Reno police at 775-324-COPS or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
