RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Emergency personnel are allowing residents in the following areas to return to their homes beginning at 8pm on Thursday, January 19:
•Callahan Ranch Road
•Fawn Lane
•Galena Country Estates
•Montreux
•Mount Rose area from Killington to Thomas Creek
•St. James Village
Residents will be required to show identification before being allowed back into the areas previously evacuated. All other areas are still under evacuation.
Citizens are reminded to please stay away from the affected areas if possible, as conditions are still unstable and fire and law enforcement teams are still working in the area.
Shortly after noon on Thursday, January 19, a swift moving brush fire, driven by heavy fuels and high winds, began burning in North Washoe Valley, prompting evacuations of approximately 5,900 residents in the following areas:
•Andrew Lane
•Callahan Ranch Road
•Eastlake Road (north end)
•Fawn Lane
•Galena Country Estates
•Montreux
•Mount Rose area from Killington to Thomas Creek
•Old Washoe City
•Pleasant Valley
•Rolling Hills
•St. James Village
