Lusaka, Zambia (SportsNetwork.com) - Lyle Rowe rallied with a 5-under 68 on Sunday and he came from behind to win the Zambia Sugar Open by five strokes.
Rowe finished at 13-under-par 279 for his first Sunshine Tour title.
The South African flew out of the gate with three birdies in the first four holes at Lusaka Golf Club. He parred the final five holes of his opening nine.
Rowe traded a birdie for a bogey from the 10th. He poured in three straight birdies from the 12th to jump to 14-under. Rowe tripped to a bogey at the last, but that just trimmed his winning margin to four.
Neil Schietekat and Ulrich van den Berg shared the third-round lead. Schietekat carded an even-par 73 to end alone in second at minus-9. Van den Berg stumbled to a 3-over 75 to dip into a share of third place at 7-under 285. He was joined there by PH McIntyre, who shot 73 in the final round.
Rowe's 68 was the low round of the day by three strokes. Five players shot 71 in the final round for the next-best score of the day.
