Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals will get their first baseman back for the season's stretch run, as the club reinstated Eric Hosmer from the 15-day disabled list as rosters expanded on Monday.

Hosmer, hitting .267 with six home runs and 46 RBI this season, has missed the past month after fracturing the third metacarpal in his right hand when being hit by a pitch.

The 24-year-old former first-round pick had been on a tear prior to the injury, batting .366 (26-of-71) in July and putting together a career-best 16- game hitting streak during the month.

Hosmer was one of six players added to the roster on Monday. Pitcher Casey Coleman, infielder Johnny Giavotella and catcher Francisco Pena were all recalled from Triple-A Omaha, while outfielder Lane Adams and pitcher Brandon Finnegan were promoted from Double-A Northwest Arkansas. Additionally, outfielder Carlos Peguero had his contract selected from Omaha.

Finnegan will be the first player from this year's MLB First-Year Player Draft to reach the major leagues. The ex-TCU left-hander was the 17th overall pick in June's draft and posted a 1.33 ERA over 13 appearances between Single-A Wilmington and Northwest Arkansas.

To make room for Finnegan and Peguero on the 40-man roster, pitchers Chris Dwyer and Blake Wood were both designated for assignment.
