SF police: 1 shot as groups trade shots on Market

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police say one person was shot when gunfire erupted between two groups on Market Street in San Francisco.

Police spokesman Gordon Shyy says the shots were fired shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday near Fifth Street on Market, the city's central thoroughfare.

Shyy says the victim has life-threatening injuries and multiple people have been detained who may have been involved.

No names or further details were released.
