LOS ANGELES (AP) — A special weapons team has surrounded an East Los Angeles home where an armed despondent man has been holed up for hours after firing a weapon during a family argument.
Nearby homes are evacuated. There are no injuries.
The Sheriff's Department got a call from a woman at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday saying her adult son was despondent and fired a weapon inside the home.
A deputy says a department SWAT team surrounding the home and deputies can see the man walking around in an upstairs area.
A deputy said at 4:50 a.m. that the man refuses to come out.
