WASHINGTON D.C. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar will be stepping down in March of 2013.
Salazar has run the Interior Department throughout President Barack Obama's first term. Before joining the Cabinet, he served as a senator from Colorado.
This morning, the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign said Salazar's resignation is the beginning of the end of the federal government's wild horse and burro roundup program, adding that President Obama now has the opportunity to appoint a Secretary of Interior who will truly guard America's unique public lands legacy.
