VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they found a drug lab at the home of a San Diego County man after he allegedly shot at two people he claimed were trespassers.

Sheriff's Sgt. Frank Gallardo says deputies who went to Michael Thyberg's home in Valley Center on Sunday found nearly 300 marijuana plants, 40 pounds of processed pot and a hash oil lab.

Deputies had been contacted by two people who claimed the man confronted them near the home, accused them of hopping his fence and fired a shot at them.

A shotgun was seized at the home.

Thyberg remained jailed Monday and phone calls to his home weren't returned.
