LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say one person has been shot outside a hotel near Los Angeles International Airport and the shooter is at large.

Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado says the shooting took place shortly after noon Wednesday in the Westchester area outside the Westin Hotel on Century Boulevard.

One person suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a second person suffered minor injuries from a fall.

Police are searching for a suspect wearing green pants, a beige shirt and a brown baseball cap who left in a black BMW.

The hotel is adjacent to other business and it's not clear where the incident started.

The shooting has closed Century Boulevard to traffic heading to and from the airport. Airport police have tweeted traffic advisories on the road closures.
