Norman, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham will not be eligible to play for Oklahoma this season, the school announced Friday.
Oklahoma said in a news release that a waiver request entered on behalf of the wide receiver seeking to make him eligible immediately after being kicked off the Missouri football team in April was denied by the NCAA.
"The university accepts that decision and will continue to provide the appropriate assistance to Dorial, just as it does with other students, in helping him grow personally from the many opportunities available to him at OU," the school said.
Green-Beckham led Missouri with 59 receptions and 12 touchdown catches last year but was kicked off the team after police said he forced his way into an apartment while looking for his girlfriend and pushed a woman down the stairs.
Green-Beckham was not arrested over that incident but was arrested twice on charges related to marijuana possession during his time at Missouri.
He joined the Sooners in July, making him ineligible to play until 2015 unless granted a waiver by the NCAA.
