Frisco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Stars and forward Antoine Roussel have agreed to a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal avoided a salary arbitration hearing.

Roussel set career highs last season with 14 goals, 15 assists and 29 points in 81 games. He was third in the NHL with 209 penalty minutes and was the lone player in the league with more than 25 points and 150 penalty minutes.

"Since coming into the NHL, Antoine has been a very effective and hard player for opposing teams to compete against," said Stars general manager Jim Nill in a statement Tuesday. "His skill combined with his competitive grit create energy for our club that impacts our whole lineup."

The 24-year-old Roussel appeared in 39 games during the 2013-14 season for Dallas and has compiled 21 goals with 22 assists for 43 points in 120 games.
