CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Governor Brian Sandoval is getting serious about creating a state insurance exchange program in Nevada.
The Silver State health insurance exchange is funded by federal dollars, but plans call for it to be self-sufficient down the road. It is hoped the exchange will give insurers an open marketplace and give people a lot of coverage choices.
Right now, 22 percent of Nevadans live without any healthcare.
According to the exchange's communications officer, CJ Bawden, the program is on schedule to start enrolling people in October 2013.
