INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Police have arrested a boy after chasing a stolen car for two hours through Southern California neighborhoods.

Inglewood police say the pursuit began late Sunday when officers tried to stop a stolen Toyota Camry.

The driver, a suspected gang member whose name and age haven't been released, led officers on a meandering two-hour chase through Inglewood, Los Angeles and Hawthorne neighborhoods.

At one point, the driver drove around spike strips and crashed into a squad car, ripping off its bumper.

City News Service says spike strips were laid down again a short time later and the Camry was disabled. The boy surrendered without incident at about 1 a.m. Monday.

He's been booked for investigation of car theft, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer and evading officers.
