NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say an 18-year-old has been arrested on murder, attempted murder and weapon charges in a gang-related drive-by shooting that left another 18-year-old dead and a 14-year-old girl injured.

North Las Vegas police Sgt. Chrissie Coon says Miquan Burton was arrested Tuesday on a warrant following an investigation of the late July 3 slaying of Tyrell Melton on Via Maria Court. That's near North Commerce Street and Lone Mountain Road.

Burton is accused of shooting from a vehicle at Melton as he stood with a group people including the girl. She was able to run into a house.

Burton is being held at the Las Vegas city jail pending an initial court appearance Monday in North Las Vegas Justice Court.

It's not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.
