Teshima wins by 1 in Japan

Hyogo, Japan (SportsNetwork.com) - Taichi Teshima closed with a 1-under 71 on Sunday to win the PGA Championship Nissin Cupnoodles Cup.

Teshima ended at 9-under-par 279. This was his seventh victory on the Japan Golf Tour.

He got off to a fast start at Golden Valley Golf Club with birdies on one and two. He gave one shot back when he bogeyed the eighth. Around the turn, Teshima also bogeyed the 10th to fall back to even-par for his round.

Teshima birdied the 12th and 14th to move back to minus-10, but he bogeyed the 16th. He parred the last two holes to hang on for the win.

Kyoung-Hoon Lee and Koumei Oda both shot 71 in the final round and shared second at minus-8. They both had the lead on the back nine in the final round, but stumbled late. Lee bogeyed 15 and 16 to fall back to 8-under par, while Oda bogeyed three in a row from the 14th to slide to minus-8.

Dong-Kyu Jang (68) jumped into fourth place at 5-under 283. Hyung-Tae Kim (74) and Yusaku Miyazato (71) shared fifth at minus-4.
