LAKE TAHOE (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- High above Lake Tahoe's east side, and just above Highway 28, lies Marlette Lake.
This was a new trail for our guide, Chief Meteorologist Brandon Wholey. It is six miles roundtrip, and about 1,800 feet of vertical elevation gain. It is not recommended for the beginner hiker.
If you want to extend your hike, Brandon highly recommends connecting to the historic Flume Trail. You will get wonderful views of Lake Tahoe from the Flume Trail as you look towards California.
If the lake is not enough, you may even get a good peek of some wildflowers along the trail.
